- Repeated Bills Functionality:
Sierra 6.1 introduced the Repeated Bills functionality. You can send repeated bills to patrons who haven't paid the original bill within a specified period. Sierra can send repeated bills for lost or unreturned items; adjustment bills are not supported. Both MLN1 and MLN2 will need to decide on the following parameters before we turn them on, as this is a system-wide setting:
- How many repeated bills should be sent
- The interval between the bills
Repeated bills would be another notice job that would be sent from Sierra, so you do not have to utilize it if it is turned on on the server. However, if it is turned on, your patrons may receive repeated bills from other libraries that utilize the functionality. Additionally, the notice text for repeated bills can be customized.
- Patron Record Copying
- For ease of record creation when you're creating several similar patron records at once, you can use the Copy a Patron Record functionality. Marmot's documentation on this functionality can be found here: https://marmot-support.atlassian.net/wiki/x/bQCFLQ
We have flexibility over the fields that can be copied. Here are the current copied fields on both MLN1 and MLN2:
- ADDRESS
- ADDRESS2
- EXP DATE
- HOME LIBR
- PAT AGENCY
- PATRN NAME
- TELEPHONE
- TELEPHONE2
Here are the fields that I've verified that we can add:
- EMAIL ADDR
- LANG PREF (MLN1)
- NOTICE PREF
- PCODE4 (shoutbomb indicator for MLN2)
- Shoutbomb Notice Preference (field w - MLN1)
- UNIQ ID
- ZIP
We can also remove fields if they're not helpful (such as patron name). If you have multiple patron record templates assigned to your login, you will be asked to select the correct template. If you use a template with a default value for a copied field, Sierra assigns the default value from the template to the copied field. If the template does not have a default value for a copied field, Sierra copies the value from the patron record or leaves it blank.
